What your fit score means
How Scout scores a match, and why the number can change.
The fit score is Scout's estimate of how well a job matches you, shown as a percentage.
What goes into it
Scout compares the job with your profile: skills, experience, seniority, location and salary preferences, plus any work you've linked, like GitHub or a portfolio.
Why a score can go down
Scores aren't fixed. When you add something to your profile, Scout reads it closely. A linked GitHub with recent work in the stack a job asks for can lift a score. If your linked work points to a different stack, Scout may lower scores for jobs that lean on the skills it couldn't find.
That's Scout being more accurate, not punishing you. If a score looks wrong, check that your profile and links reflect the work you want to be hired for.
A high score isn't a promise
It means the job is worth your time. The recruiter still decides.
